Ag Day at the Farmington Fair!
Agricultural / Environmental Day at the Farmington Fair takes place on the first Monday of the fair week. This year Ag Day will be held on September 21st, 2026 from 9am to 1pm
Ag Day is an annual kid’s education day for kindergarten through fourth grade students. Coordinated by the Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District, this day is focused on agricultural, environmental and conservation-based topics. Students will be able to visit educational learning stations throughout designated areas of the fairground where volunteers will be doing demonstrations, presenting educational information, providing samples of agricultural products, and/or offering a hands-on activity.
Registration is required to attend, please email Caroline at: cverrill@franklincountyswcd.org or call 207-778-4279.
Admission is free only for students and a chaperone from 9am-1pm on Monday, September 21st, 2026. Please make sure you bring your Ag Day printout (given when you register) to show at the fair entrance and follow fair staff who will be directing you on where to park.
Students with teachers or chaperones should arrive around 9:00 am to check in. Presentations will run from 9am to 1pm. Lunch break will be any time after 12:30. Students are asked to bring their own food, as lunch is not provided. Stations will close when the students go to lunch.
We ask that everyone is respectful of the fairgrounds, volunteers, presenters, and animals. Students must be with a chaperone at all times. In addition, for safety reasons, attention should be paid to the vehicles traveling to and from the parking lot.
We look forward to seeing you on Ag Day!

Seeking volunteers!
Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking volunteers, presenters, and educators to set up fun agricultural and/or environmental education booths to display and educate children aged K-4.
We encourage activity-touch stations where children can have hands on educational fun. If you or someone you know would be interested in presenting, please reach out! We rely on volunteers each year to provide a wide variety of educational presentations on agricultural, environmental and conservation related topics. If you are interested, please reach out to the district with details about who you are, the theme of your station, a brief description of your presentation as well as any volunteers you may bring. Please give us a call: (207)778-4279 or email: cverrill@franklincountyswcd.org
Thank you!
